Point of Rocks railroad station
The whole scene will turn around the Point or Rock station once served by the B&O. The station was built 1873 in the Victorian Gothic style. It was designed by renowned architect E. Francis Baldwin who would construct a number of stations and depots for the B&O. The railroad station is still used today by MARC (Maryland Area Regional Commuter) which was known prior to 1984 as Maryland Rail Commuter. The building belongs however to CSX Transportation who uses it as office for MOW (Maintenance of Way).
An H0-scale kit of this structure has been offered in 2002 as a limited edition by Model Tech Studios. |
